Build Capacity
Appropriate exercise develops the ability to perform tasks that currently feel tiring or difficult.
Exercise, Strength & Flexibility
Purposeful, individualized exercise to improve the physical abilities that pain, injury, or surgery has made more difficult.
Understand Your Care
Therapeutic exercise is movement prescribed to address a specific limitation. Depending on your evaluation, it may target muscle activation, strength, endurance, flexibility, or controlled joint motion. The choice of exercise matters, but so do the amount, resistance, rest, and progression. Your program is built around your current abilities and the activities you want to regain.
Your therapist connects this approach to the findings from your evaluation and the goals you choose together. We discuss what a useful response would look like and whether this treatment belongs in your plan.
Potential Patient Benefits
Appropriate exercise develops the ability to perform tasks that currently feel tiring or difficult.
Targeted practice addresses limitations such as a weak shoulder, a stiff knee, or reduced trunk endurance.
Understanding your exercises gives you practical tools to continue working between visits and after discharge.
Your Visit
Your therapist establishes a starting point using movement and strength testing, your symptom response, and any medical restrictions.
You learn a manageable selection of exercises with coaching on technique and effort. The program is progressed or simplified based on performance and recovery between sessions.
We check how treatment affects both your symptoms and a relevant movement or activity. Your feedback helps guide the next step, including changing the approach when it is not useful.
Between Appointments
A home program should specify which movements to perform and how to respond if symptoms change. Ask about repetitions, frequency, and what level of discomfort is acceptable for your condition.
Let us know how you feel later in the day and during your normal routine. A treatment that feels comfortable in the clinic should also fit into a manageable recovery plan at home.
Individualized Decisions
Exercise dosage is individualized. New marked swelling, loss of function, or symptoms that continue to worsen should be reported rather than pushed through. Surgical healing timelines take priority.
Share your medical history, medications, recent procedures, and any change in symptoms. We can discuss alternatives when a technique is not suitable for you.
Questions About Therapeutic Exercises
It can use familiar equipment, but the exercise selection and progression address findings from your evaluation and your specific recovery goals.
Your therapist selects complementary approaches around the limitations found during your evaluation. This treatment may be paired with exercise, movement practice, or education when those approaches support your goals.
The schedule depends on your condition, healing stage, progress, and relevant authorization. We reassess your response rather than promising a fixed number of treatments or a guaranteed outcome.
Let’s work toward less pain, more movement, and a stronger you.
