Support Beyond the Workday

A Personal Plan for a Work-Related Setback

An injury at work can change how you lift, reach, walk, sit, and move through your day. It may affect your comfort at home as well as your ability to perform job duties. We take time to understand those challenges so your physical therapy has a practical purpose.

Your therapist reviews your injury history, referral, and relevant medical instructions, then assesses movement, strength, and function. We discuss what your work involves, which activities are currently difficult, and the goals that matter to you.

Your plan may include guided exercise, hands-on care, movement practice, and education. We adjust treatment as your needs and abilities change, while considering the instructions and restrictions from the provider managing your injury.

Whether your job involves a desk, driving, standing, or physical tasks, specific examples help us understand your demands. Tell us about the tasks you want to perform more comfortably and confidently.

Your Path Forward

Care Built Around Your Recovery

01 /

Understand Your Job Demands

We discuss the tasks your work involves, such as carrying, reaching, prolonged standing, or repeated movement. Specific examples help your therapist connect treatment goals to your routine.

02 /

Build a Personalized Plan

Guided exercise, hands-on care, and functional activities may be used to address the limitations identified during your evaluation. Medical restrictions and referral instructions guide your plan.

03 /

Review Progress Together

Tell your therapist how you are responding to treatment and which activities remain challenging. This feedback helps guide adjustments and the next steps in rehabilitation.

A Personal Approach

What Your Treatment May Include

Your therapist chooses treatments based on your evaluation, functional goals, medical guidance, and response to care.

Hands-On Treatment

Manual therapy may be included to address movement and comfort concerns identified during your evaluation.

Strength & Mobility

Guided exercise is tailored to help you work toward the motion, strength, and activity tolerance needed for daily tasks.

Functional Movement

Practice may focus on movements such as reaching, lifting, walking, or changing position, within relevant restrictions.

Education & Home Practice

Your therapist explains your care and may recommend a personalized home program to support progress between visits.

Claim & Care Coordination

Know the Next Steps Before Your Visit

Our office can review your referral, claim details, and authorization information with you before scheduling. Have your injury date, claim number, employer details, and adjuster or case manager contact information available when you call.

Tell us about approved body areas, visit limits, and any instructions from the provider managing your work injury. If further visits are recommended, additional authorization may be needed before care continues.

If You Are Represented by an Attorney

Share your attorney’s contact information so our office can discuss the paperwork relevant to your care. We accept attorney lien arrangements; contact us to discuss whether an arrangement is appropriate for your case. Workers’ compensation authorization and billing requirements should be reviewed with our office before treatment begins.

An appointment inquiry does not confirm authorization. Confirm approved care, any lien arrangement, and payment responsibilities before treatment.

Your Questions, Answered

Good to Know

Do I need authorization before starting?

Authorization and referral requirements depend on your claim. Call our office with your information so the required steps can be reviewed before treatment.

What should I tell my therapist about my work?

Describe your job duties, the movements you perform, and any restrictions or instructions from your treating provider. Bring relevant documentation if available.

Does physical therapy determine when I return to work?

Physical therapy supports your functional recovery. Work status, restrictions, and clearance should be discussed with the provider managing your work injury.

What if my approved visits are nearly finished?

Contact our office to discuss your remaining authorization. Additional care may require further approval; an extension should not be assumed.

What if more than one body area is affected?

Tell your therapist about all your concerns. Your referral and authorization may define the areas approved for treatment. Our office can discuss any additional information or approval needed.

Can my treatment reflect the physical demands of my job?

Yes. Describe your duties, movements, and any relevant restrictions. Your therapist considers these when setting functional goals and selecting appropriate activities.

Do you accept attorney lien arrangements?

Yes. Contact our office to discuss your case and confirm whether a lien arrangement is appropriate. Claim authorization, paperwork, and payment responsibilities should be reviewed before care begins.
